Country House The Castle is located on a upland between river Menotre
valley and Valnerina, near Spoleto, Foligno and Norcia. This was an ancient
trans-Apennine trading way, very important before the construction of the
Flaminia road in II century a.C., and was also were Hannibal passed by during
the Second Punic war.
During the medieval period, many castles were built on the mountains surrounding
Spoleto, and this was one of them. During the centuries, it has gone through
many architectural changes, becoming like a fortified mountain village.
The Apartments
The holiday apartments have been built with great care, maintaining the
ancient Castle walls. All the restoration works were made under the control
of the Cultural Heritage Association. The apartments of the country house
have all terracotta tiles on the floor and wooden ceilings, are furnished
with taste and style; they have a private bathroom, equipped kitchen, safe
and independent heating. There are lodgings available in the Village or
in the Castle. Inside the Castle there is a stable painting exposition of
Master Eranando Venanzi. The paintings are exposed in every apartment.
Activities
The position of the Country House the Castle gives the opportunity, by short
transfers, to reach major places of interest in Umbria, and to enjoy the
countryside with long walks.
There is a swimming pool available, placed on a suggestive terraced plain,
with sun beds, warm shower and sun umbrellas; dimensions 49x20 ft.; water
height from 3 to 6 ft..
There are Mountain Bikes available for rental, there’s a tennis field and
a skating area.
