Trasimeno Blues - Lake Trasimeno

Trasimeno Blues, the blues festival which
takes place every year at Lake Trasimeno, is considered
one of the most important music festivals in Umbria.
The blues, born as rebellion song, reflects the story, the culture, the
problems and emotions of American’s black; it was the expression of
the suffering and the hard existence of black Afro-Americans. The words
used in many passages are mainly treating subjects regarding their hard
life, their sentimental problems or express an existential dissatisfaction.
The word “blues” means melancholy and sadness, but includes
also a group of other sensations and emotions. From the 18th century to
our days, the blues music has speeded all over the world, undergoing to
a great metamorphosis; joined with other music genres, adapted to city culture
and conditions, has become the most important musical expression in black
tradition; its evolution originated other musical expressions like jazz
music, rhythm and blues and rock 'n' roll. Among the events organized in
Umbria, Trasimeno Blues pays homage to blues music, closing the summer festivals
begun with Terni Jazz, the Festival of Spoleto and Umbria Jazz.
Trasimeno Blues, since its first edition in 1996, is every year more appreciated,
for the music quality expressed by the musicians who have participated.
From the past editions we can name The James Taylor Quartet, Carl Palmer,
Ten Years After, Carvin Jones and the Tony Coleman Band. The wonderful scenarios
of Lake Trasimeno and of the cities where concerts take place are in the
background of the artist’s blues notes and create a unique atmosphere.
The concerts take place every evening for 10 days, in the cites of Castiglione
del lago, Tuoro, Città della Pieve, Passignano sul Trasimeno, Magione,
Paciano, Panicate, Piegaro and in other suggestive places, with the participation
